Q and A

How do I find the church?

Yoker Evangelical Church is situated on the boundary of Clydebank and Glasgow. Our address is 2420 Dumbarton Road, Yoker, Glasgow, G14 0QL.

By public transport, you can travel to our church easily on any bus that goes along Dumbarton Road. Our nearest train station is Yoker, and if you're coming from Renfrew, you can even come on the ferry.

How long do Sunday services last?

The morning worship service starts at 10.30am and will finish by 11.45am. At the end of our service we have a cup of tea/coffee in our church hall for anyone who wishes to stay. This would be a great opportunity for you to get to know us better and we'd love to have you join us.

Our evening all age service starts at 5.00pm and finishes at 6.00pm with the opportunity to join us for dinner as a church.

Is there plenty of parking?

We have a small car park but if this is full, we have permission to use the Doctor's car park across the road.

Is there disabled access to the Church?

People with disabilities are very welcome, we have easy access through the main door of the church as well as a disabled toilet and a loop system for those with hearing aids.

What time do I need to arrive?

The morning service starts at 10.30am. To allow yourself time to find your way and get settled we would recommend you arrive between 10 and 15 minutes before the service starts.

What happens when I arrive?

When you arrive you will be welcomed by one of our members. The layout of the church makes it easy to get around and there are always plenty of people who will be happy to help you find your way. Don't be afraid to ask; it's a great way to meet people. There are no reserved seats so feel free to sit wherever you feel most comfortable.

Do I need to bring any money?

During the service we take up an offering from our regular congregation towards the ongoing work of the church and our support of Christian mission and compassion.

Please do not feel obliged to contribute if you are visiting. However, if you do decide to give to the work of Yoker Evangelical Church and are a UK tax payer, we can reclaim the tax you have paid on your gift, enabling it to go even further. All you need to do is fill in and sign the Gift Aid declaration on a gift envelope and place your gift inside.

What should I wear?

When you come and spend some time with us at Yoker Evangelical Church we want you to feel comfortable and at ease.

You will see adults and children wearing everything from jeans and t-shirts to suits and ties so please don't feel you need to "dress up", just come as you are.

Will there be something for my children?

Children are very well catered for at Yoker Evangelical Church including children's talks every week during our morning service and a Sunday school which runs from 10.45am - 11.45am.

Creche facilities are available for babies and toddlers with helpers available to allow parents to stay in the service.

What is there for my teenagers?

Sunday school on Sunday morning runs for 5 to 13 years of age. For older teens we have our Church Youth group which meets on the first Firday evening of every month (term time) at 7pm.
